Welcome to the 2022 USPA Master's Cupl!! We have 9 teams playing in our second 12 Goal tournament this Fall season.
Tournament Format
- 3 Brackets of 3 – play within bracket with a semifinal
- Teams play within bracket (2 games)
- Teams are ranked 1-9 based on Win/Loss records
- Top 4 teams advance to semifinals, Bottom 5 teams move to a 2-day subsidiary tournament
- Semifinal pairings - (Record 1 vs Record 4, Record 2 vs Record 3)

Tied Records:
In the case of seeding, teams will draw for placement.
In the case of elimination:
- If 2 teams have tied records and they did NOT play each other, then the tie is broken by a shootout.
- If 2 teams have tied records and they HAVE played each other, then the tie is broken by who beat who.
- If 3 or more teams have tied records, then the tie is broken by a shootout.

RULE 2- PLAYERS
a. No player shall play in any Event for more than one team except that if a player is injured in a game and there are no eligible substitutes available an eliminated player may be substituted to complete that game and any subsequent game for that team only. An eliminated player is a player who has completed his or her final game in the Event and whose team has been eliminated from the Event.
(1) If a player with a known injury begins a game, that player may not use a player from another team as a substitute, should that player not be able to complete the game.
(2) For Houston and Brookshire Polo Club’s 2022 Fall 12 goal league: During preliminary play, if a 4, 5 or 6 goal handicapped player is injured during a game, a player competing in the Event of equal or lesser handicap to the injured player may substitute only for the remainder of that game. For all subsequent games in the Event only eligible substitutes may be used. After preliminary play, if a 4, 5 or 6 goal handicapped player is injured in a game, an eliminated player of equal or lesser handicap may substitute for the injured player for the remainder of the game and any subsequent games in the Event. The substitute is not eligible to compete for any other team in the Event.
Round Robin Rules:
The winner of the Round Robin is the team with the best won-lost record. In the event of a won/lost tie at the end of the Round Robin, the order of finish will be determined using the following method:
1. Based on net goals
2. If net goals is inconclusive, then gross goals
3. Lastly, the “shoot out” procedure set forth in USPA Outdoor Rule 14.d, if both net goals and gross goals are inconclusive
Round Robin Tied Game Rules:
Should any 2 chukker game result in a tie, the winner shall be determined by the shootout procedure in USPA Outdoor Rule 14.d (tied teams shoot penalty 3s) except that only 1 player from each of the tied teams will shoot. The shootout will take place immediately following the game between the 2 tied teams.
